Hong Kong had a justifiable reputation built on a dynamic society and economy, part of China but with a distinct legal system and history of civil rights molded by its history as a British colony. This changed with the campaign for greater political and civil rights which was opposed by the Hong Kong government and ultimately shut down by the Chinese government in 2020 and 2021 with the passage of a National Security law and arrests of activists.
With the end of political discussion, debates and demonstrations in favor of its autonomy, Hong Kong has experienced a wave of outward migration and restrictions due to the pandemic that have called its previous status into question.
As a foreigner, if you are interested in working in Hong Kong, check out the online job boards and look at the visa requirements. There are still many reasons to look at HK as a work or career destination, but it would be similar to the mainland as far as restrictions on speech and surveillance if that is a consideration for you. It is still unknown if that would affect business investment.

Being the 3rd largest economy in the world, Japan is expected to recover from the effects of the pandemic in 2022, but it is still unclear how it has affected employers' hiring plans. Despite restrictions on work visas and entry into Japan during the different waves of the pandemic, it is an economy that is attracting more and more talent from the rest of the world in fields as diverse as healthcare to technology.
It has one of the more open visa programs for holders of bachelors degrees or specialized skills if you can find an employer who will sponsor you for a position. While travel has been largely shut down during the pandemic-related lockdowns, as Japan opens up, you can check out the online jobs boards to plan your applications for jobs.

Explanation of Travel Restrictions to Singapore
Singapore is an advanced economy in South East Asia, and a member of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), with jobs that attract foreigners from all over the globe. If you. like many others, want to work in Singapore, they have a very efficient work pass system that has helped fuel their economic growth by inviting international talent to work in many industries. While the government has raised requirements for certain visa categories and tightened overall employer regulations for hiring from overseas, they have also stressed that Singapore is committed to attracting overseas talent to boost Singapore's economy.
During the pandemic, Singapore has imposed entry restrictions on foreign visa holders and short-term visitors but has recently opened Vaccinated Travel Lanes for visitors from certain countries who have received one of the available vaccines. Check out the latest covid news and guidance from the Singapore government to see if you can enter or apply for jobs from overseas.
Working in 2022 will have some challenges as companies figure out how their business will do during a pandemic, but the experience of living and working in Singapore can be reassuring for people moving from other advanced economies. Check out these job boards if you are looking for positions and employers who might sponsor your work pass.

Thailand became an upper-middle income economy in 2011 . Over the last four decades,
Thailand has made remarkable progress in social and economic development, moving
from a low-income country to an upper-income country in less than a generation. As
such, Thailand has been one of the widely cited development success stories, with
sustained strong growth and impressive poverty reduction, particularly in the 1980s.
However, average growth has slowed to 3.5 percent over 2005-2015. The government
has embarked on an ambitious reform program to raise Thailand’s long-term growth path
and achieve high-income status
